Today has been a really good day. I woke up, had some quiet time, ate some bread for breakfast and had a devotional with my group. We left for the care point, stopping to get some tools (saws, machetes, and rakes), and we got there and greeted everyone. As I have mentioned, the care point is located in a big field with only one tree providing a few feet of shade. Summer is coming for them, so our team decided we were going to try to make a structure so that they can have shade. After buying materials, we started digging deep holes for the posts and transferring the dirt. We dug about 10 holes by the time kiddos started arriving. There is a group of little kids (1-6) that comes before the main group. On Monday, we went into town and picked a couple kids each that we wanted to buy clothes for. I picked a five year old girl named Sisi and a 3 year old girl named Sethu. We also bought a big tub and some soap. This morning, we were able to fill up the tub and wash the kids we bought clothes for, giving them a warm bath, something they probably had not experienced in months. After washing them, we put on their new clothes, and it was awesome to see such a confidence in each kid. After finishing with this, the rest of the kids came, and I spent more time with the older teenagers. We had some cool conversations about relationships and priorities, and I was able to tell them about my relationship with Miles. We talked about when a relationship is centered around God, it lifts you up and comforts you. The idea that you can feel safe in a relationship seemed foreign to them. After spending some more time with them, Levi started playing dance music on his speaker and all the kids started forming a group and dancing. We all danced together, and it was amazing seeing them all relax and have fun. After that, I sat down and got a few marriage proposals (a boy said he only had 13 cows but he would trade 250 cows for me)(If that’s not chivalry I don’t know what is), we fed the kids, and we finished up for the day. I am now sitting in my hammock, and I am feeling so blessed to be able to be here. I’m so thankful for you all for the support you guys have given me, and I am excited to see you all soon!!! I love you guys. God is good!

  1. Grace,

I am laughing SO hard at the boy who proposed and said he would offer 250 cows for you! I say you are more priceless than that. 😉 Too funny, but not surprised because you are SO beautiful inside and out! Also, love how you can explain to them what a Godly relationship looks like, and so happy God has brought you and Miles together. Would’ve loved to joint in on the dance party. Will have to come back with you to experience this all some day! Continued prayers. Love you SO much, and to Him be the glory! Keep letting His light shine through you Grace. I can’t wait to see what He does next for and through you, it will be the best!
